The Mrs. and I went to Worldwide Carpet in Edison.
The carpet we picked out so far was a commercial grade and was $2.56 installed with the best padding. It came with a 10 year warranty, but we're going to be out of here in about 2 years.
You tell me. Is it worth to call Smart Carpet now?
I'd say it's going to be tough to do much better than $2.50/SF- that's pretty cheap for good carpet and pad. When you say "commercial grade" are you talking about low-cut pile like in an office, or are they just calling it that to make it sound heavy-duty?

Bob
Right on the commercial grade. We have that type in another room and is very happy with it.
Hey..I say if you already went shopping, picked it out and got a great price for what you want...you're done. Like Bob said $2.50 gonna be hard to beat.
Your a fool to have some high pressure jerk come into your home, and try to get u to buy carpet on the spot. Smart Carpets advertising costs are way more than a mortgage on a brick n stick store. Dont be fooled! They come into your house, give u a high price and have the nerve to take off 20% if you say no deal, scumbags! They are the worst, its just a boiler room operation! Be smart, support a local mom n pop carpet store- thats where u will get the best deal.
I have heard several nightmare stories about Empire. My neighbor's friend actually called the cops because the saleman would not leave when she asked him to.
