The ML program gave her the ability to own a home in the very expensive and wealthy county that can't be bothered to pay her enough to be able to live within an hour drive of her job if she hadn't gotten the ML condo. She got no favors, she waited four years for her name to move up the list and had to qualify for the mortgage like anyone else.
Of course she got a favor; she got a home in an expensive an wealthy county that people making twice as much couldn't have afforded at market rates.

Your friend is guilty of theft. Socially and legally sanctioned theft, but theft just the same. Someone somewhere was forced by the police power of the state to provide her with the money to buy something she could not afford on her own. That is wrong. Period.

And don't give me dopey straw man hyperboles about tenements. The only reason there are tenements in the first place is the morality of your friend and others like her demanding government favors at the expense of others without their permission or approval.

Darn it.

Sometimes,it does seem that the government rewards the unproductive.
Example: If I quit my second job,I would qualify for the state health insurance program Familycare,WIC,and would fall into the moderate income levels in this chart.
So it feels like I'm beating up my body(working lots of hours) for nothing.

But back to the OP,why not at least make it mixed income?

And many more think that someone making half a million dollars a year is rich, selfish and should have a good chunk of their legitimately obtained gains confiscated by the gov't and given to them.

That's even worse.

There is already plenty of affordable housing, it just needs to be managed properly. I know of several people who live in these ML housing who got into their homes 10+ years ago and qualified based on their circumstances then. 10+ years later, their spouse or significant other has moved into the home, or they run an illegal day care out of their ML home, and they are bringing in enough $$$ to sock it away and live much better than those of us who work 2 jobs to afford our market value homes.
I don't need more of these people in my community. It's just a slap in the face and a constant reminder of how some people manage to play the system and get away with it.

The exception to the rule. If they are running an illegal day care and you don't report them, then you've only got yourself to blame.
