I grew up in The Manor in the Arlington section of Kearny where every house had a garage and driveway (and there were no multi-family/2-family/duplexes). Once you crossed the Arlington designation, it was a different story, including a block of rowhouses. Down at the far end nearest Harrison, most houses were 2 and 3-family and it was rare to find a driveway.

I am concerned with the noise from Newark or Teterboro bound planes, is it constantly heard there?
We're living close to Hudson waterline right now, and helicopters here roar pretty much every sunny day. Which I'm getting tired of

When I lived in Kearny, I didn't hear the planes even though we were in a direct flight path. You get used to it and you pause a conversation without even being aware you're doing it. The only thing we heard was the tugboat in the middle of the night blowing the horn to open/close the bridge on the Pike.
