Received a letter from DMV reminding of the license renewal and payment of extra $18 for M endorsement. Discuss.

Send the DMV your license fee plus the extra 18 for the motorcycle endorsement and they will renew your license. End of discussion!

And what exactly will I get for that $18 besides M printed on the license?

You get the privilege of being a licensed motorcycle operator just like all the other motorcycle riders in NJ.

If you don't want the endorsement don't send in the extra $18.

Just renewed mine last week. Took 1 hour.. not too bad. Pretty well coordinated. $18 is optional and I don't think its all that bad for motorcycle privileges.

One good thing about the cut backs in local government is that NJ got rid of most of the stupid inspection requirements that did nothing but enhance the the level of frustration.

I've already paid for that privilege when I get the permit for motorcycle. $18 just for printing additional letter on license - horrendously overpriced.

That's the fee for the permit, not the increased endorsement on the dl. Did you really think that fee was a lifetime fee to modify your dl to a higher level? So if $4.50 a year is too much, then owning a mc probably isn't for you anyway.

If you cant afford 4.50 a year wait till you register your bike it cost more than registering a car.
