moving to north nj or pocono area with 3 kids. (apartment, to rent)

Hello ill make it quick and to the point. My fiance id in montclair nj works at kearny nj. Im in PR moving by dec-jan with my kids(10, 5, 15mnth) they speak english and spanish. Looking for suggestions to relocate to a slow safe childfriendly place to move and not so pricey. We are starting to build up our way and hes the one that has an income. I love lancaster area but hes commute would be crazy everyday. Thank you in advance & happy holidays. Jo

Was looking in the poconos for houses but if its in nj an apt btwn 1200-1500. I dnt knw that much from over there to rent
