Hi I recently moved from Ohio. I have a couple of qts
1. I have to register my 96 camry with NJ registration. Do I need to have the emmission check done before the registeration. In Ohio I need to do in even years(2006,2008,..etc). Also is there a cheap mechanic who could get me passed

2. What tests would I need to transfer my license. I was told tht I will have to take all the tests again. My Ohio license is still valid.

Thank you for all your help and replies.

You'll get a tag to stick in your windshield that gives you two weeks after registering to get an inspection, when you register.

Thank you for all your help and replies.

1 you get your car inspected AFTER registering it in NJ
2. you will need to take a written test to get your NJ DL, hint: read the book that they give you, about a third of the questions relate to drinking and driving so memorize the data in the book and you'll be ok

If my car is not registered under my name I don't have to have a NJ tag do I? My car is registered in my mothers name, here we don't do emissions checks or anything like that. I wonder if they would still require me to have the tag and get the checks...anybody know?

Can anybody post the link for the dmv? I'm sure I could find it myself - butttt I'm lazy. Ahh well I guess I'll attempt to look for it.

Who said I was a law breaker? I'm sorry you find me rude...actually no, I'm not sorry. I don't care what you think. It's not like we'll ever meet, I'm sure I'll probably set up off the undesirable detector as soon as I set foot on your street.
