To pay the state, that is. They are running speed enforcement task forces on the Interstates. Radar, Lidar, pacing, it's all being used. I can only guess how much money has not been collected by the revenue agents given the horrible weather of the past month.
They are way behind, they want money, and they are going to get it from as many motorists as they can. Beware! Don't give it to them! Watch your speed right now, especially on 80 and 78, but also the GSP and NJTP.

I agree 100%. These careless speeding drivers are nothing but scumbags.
what if they are driving safely but just above the speed limit? the limit is just an arbitrary number. im sure a lot of people believe its based on rigorous scientific double blind placebo studies to determine on each road at what exact speed a car becomes unsafe, but really its pretty arbitrary. people speed all the time and most of them are still driving safely.
we have a big push in our town to visit downtown where they will write you a parking ticket so fast.
also cell phones and seat belts are the best thing that has happened to city treasury in a long time.
a retired police friend of mine says a good cop can write $5000 worth of tickets at random in 1/2 hour. so i draw from that its not about what is done wrong but who you want those tickets to go to?

Nothing new - I saw 2 pulled over just before and after the GSP Bergen tolls on both the north and southbound lanes about 2 weeks ago. The state needs money to make their pension contributions.
