In the lag time?
No, never happened to me. No buyer has ever asked if the item was sold in the few hours between when I sold the used laptop and when I deleted it from Craigslist.
What I have dealt with is people going doing the list and shotgunning that question "It is still available?" to all the ads that meet their criteria. Waste of my time because they more interested in who answers first than whether the laptop is any good or not.

Just today I received two emails from a spambot asking a question that was already answered in the ad, and no, the question wasn't about the price.

Think of all the stuff you do on your mattress. Now think of sleeping in someone else's stuff. Ugh!!
Unfortunately, you may already be spending the night with other people's mold, mites, bacteria and bodily fluids.

Because you're lazy like most of the people on CL? Really though, do you rush to your computer and remove the posting as soon as the item leaves your possession? Maybe the person is emailing you in this lag time. I probably would assume the item is still available and not ask that question, but I don't get angry when people do.
Usually people wouldnt say item, but I thought the poster meant that it's stupid to ask whether a particular item is available or not, which I dont think is stupid, as some items go quick. I had a couple people call me and ask whether something was still there and then came and got it.
