Hi,

My husband has to travel to Ewing,NJ and i have to commute towards Cherry Hill, NJ .
Is there any good decent township area in between(approx around 1200$) ? I am little scared of driving on highways as of now, so looking for a public mode of transport near my residence(..just want to keep my options open for travelling) ..as maybe , in some months i might have to travel to Philadelphia or NY too.
Please suggest some options...

Thanks,
A.N.

Welcome to NJ. My friends moved into a new complex called "The Crossings" at Hamilton Station in Hamilton, NJ. It is a new complex which is walking distance to NJ transit and close enough to both Ewing and Cherry Hill. It can be quite expensive ($1400-1500/month) for your range but worth checking out.

If you're leaning towards Philly then Cherry Hill isn't a bad option either. There's a train that runs for $2 into the city and the commute from Cherry Hill to Ewing isn't bad since it's against city traffic. My buddy lived in an Apt down there and paid about $1100/month.

If you are scared of driving, why not just live in Cherry Hill? Your husband can travel ~45 mins - which is a very reasonable commute in NJ-terms. But if you ever had to commute to NYC, that might be one long commute so do consider your options. Another option is Hamilton as Furinax suggested. And you can drive along Rt 130 to Cherry Hill without having to take the highway.

I must add - since both the towns (Ewing and Cherry Hill) are so close to PA border, why don't you live in PA? It will save you tons in taxes.

Nowhere in cherry Hill will be public transit accessible, but you can take local roads to avoid 295 or the turnpike. Bordentown is a good northern option if you want to live in a real town. Haddonfield and Collingswood offer the same closer to Cherry Hill. 1200 should be fine for most of South jersey.
