Looking for a good lawn service in Ocean County. My home is a on a quarter of an acre lot. I would like to know how often the service is provided and how much you are charged. And finally what month does you service begin and what month does it end. Any information you can provide will be much appreciated.

Lawn service or landscaper. The ones who come and dump chemicals on the lawns usually aren't worth it. My neighbor hired them last year. My lawns looks better and I'm doing it all myself.

I take soil samples two a year which is probably way too often. They are dropped off at the local University Cooperative Extension for analysis. The ph and at times the need for other materials. Total per sample, $6.00 each .

I mulch so the need for additional fertilizers is nil. I put a good dose down in the fall. Those companies will tell you it's needed four times a year which is BS. Twice is more than enough and the proper percentages are needed.

More important than most of this is the proper soil ph. the tests determine that and lime applications a few times a year can adjust that. Without the right ph, putting all the chemicals in the world won't help. I over seeded this year in the late summer as it's cooler right now.

I'm looking for a lawn service to cut my lawn. I agree with you regarding companies that put chemicals on your lawn, way overpriced.
