how do i get rid of a mattress in Jersey City? the local trash website has no mention besides waste bulk pick up? is this considered bulk? do i have to wrap it in plastic bags like NYC? tie it up? lay it flat on the curb? call for pick up?

JCIA Online - Solid Wastes / Recycling

"Bulk waste removal (appliances, furniture, etc.) is also collected during these two pickups. We do require that you notify Jersey City Incinerator Authority at (201) 432-4645 ext. 600, to schedule a bulk waste pickup."


I would assume that a mattress is considered furniture. Call the # to find out for sure about requirements.

Thank you! just spoke w/ a neighbor.. i went out on the block to ask..they're telling me just put it up against the post outside and it will be pick up. no tying, no bagging.
