Does anyone use NJ Transit to commute daily from New Brunswick to NYC?
Is it,in fact,doable?
Thanks in advance!
NJ Transit train station is right in New Brunswick. See New Jersey Transit - Home for train schedules. It's the NorthEast corridor line. Train goes into Penn Station in Manhattan.
There's also a bus that stops right by the New Brunswick train station that goes into Manhattan (Port Authority.) Coach USA
I did it a long time ago. If you need parking, look into it. There was a year long wait for a parking pass. Without one, the daily parking is quite expensive.
Also, it looks like there are very frequent trains between New Brunswick and NYC - is that true?
See Daliowa's post above. The blue words with underlines are what's called a "hyperlink." If you hover your mouse over the hyperlink and click (or tap it if you're on a mobile device), your browser will direct you to the New Jersey Transit website where you can see the train schedule and judge for yourself if the trains are "very frequent" enough for your needs, and how long the trip will take on local and express trains. Good luck and don't hurt yourself.

The parking problem near the New Brunswick NJ Transit RR station causes me to mention another option, namely the Coach USA/Suburban Transit bus. You can park your car--free of charge--at their terminal on Route 27, and take an express bus into NYC.
