what's the best route to take from Baltimore to Atlantic City? I guess just follow the GPS? Also is it really $20 at the toll road going in and another $20 going back?

I-95 north and then Atlantic City Expressway to Atlantic City.
The major casinos, if still major, will probably be offering cheap rooms now.

Most of the toll roads have alternatives. IF you really wanted you could beat all the tolls but there is one where you would have to tale US 1 over the Conowingo Dam to get around. The others are much easier to drive around. I used to work that way about once a month years ago anmd often would just pay for the one $5 toll while avoiding all the others.

I-95 North does NOT continue directly thru NJ. Lots of people think it does. I-95 goes thru Philadelphia on the Pennsy side then goes into NJ over the Scudders Falls Bridge then ends over US1.
The next section continues from a place on the NJ Pike BUT following I-95 will lead you out of the way from NJ and Atlantic City.
I know its confusing and ,,,,, just check it out on online map sites of your choice.
I-295 does go into NJ and theres not a direct connect to the AC Expwy from either of these going North.

Yeh, but I am sure there are signs that will direct you to. I think that is how I found it. I was driving to AC from State College PA one weekend. It was first trip from said location. There was no GPS back then, and I did not have an Iphone. I did not plan my route first either. I figured, I do it the old fashioned way.

There are signs for Atlantic City after you come over the DelawareMemorialBridge.

Cool story.
Anyway, coming from Baltimore, take I-95 N. Near Wilmington, DE, exit to I-295 N toward NY-NJ. Immediately after you cross the Del Mem Bridge into NJ, there will be signs to exit onto US 40 toward Atlantic City. It's a rural road but shorter and cheaper than going all the way up to the AC Exwy.

Yes, it's 40. Couldn't remember!
