So, you're avoiding a couple of days of rain in NJ by going to Seattle--where there are at least three days of rain in the forecast for the next week?
I really like Seattle, but going there in order to avoid rain is like going to Southern California in order to avoid wildfires, droughts, and earthquakes.
We flooded from Sandy, don't think(hope) these tides will be as high. But the 5PM update from the NWS has it moving closer to land and we're expecting winds around 50ish and a 2/3 foot surge.

Not going to avoid rain been planned for months now, can't back out my sis who im going see would be pissed.. Haven't seen her in 10 years!!!
I live in Cranford... I'm a little worried, but my house doesn't flood despite very close proximity to the river. This storm would have to be worse than Irene to flood my home, however a lot of town will not be so lucky. I'm worried for the town in general - new businesses and apartments buildings built in flood zones and friends' houses.
Yall know the blocking high pressure system is suppose to keep this storm near the coast for several days
If that high blocks more than planned, a recurve west could bring the storm much closer. There is also a possibility of strengthening to a post tropical hurricane off New Jersey for awhile. Going for milk and bread now, goodbye.
