Looks like Tuesday should be exciting. The snow is coming. Stella should be fun. Milk, eggs and bread will be flying out of the stores.

Yes, I'm sure that a significant snow storm is coming, but Weather Underground (IMHO, the weather site that is usually the most accurate) has progressively downgraded the storm's potential--at least for Central NJ.

Two days ago, they were predicting 12 inches +.
Yesterday, their projection was 8-12 inches.
When I checked a few minutes ago, their latest forecast is for 5-8 inches.

Hopefully, the actual accumulation will turn out to be only 4-6 inches, but--in the meantime--all of the predictions have people emptying the stores of bread, milk, and eggs. What is it about a predicted snow storm that causes people to crave French Toast?

This Weather Channel BS about naming storms just builds up the hype and hysteria.

The media has been waiting all winter for a storm like this. Expect non-stop coverage for the next 3 days. There is even the potential for another snowstorm next weekend.

Yep, the "we're all going to die" scenario. A trip to shoprite tomorrow should be interesting.

Because of the EPA, coal has gotten scarce.

What can be substituted for a snow person's eyes and be compliant with the EPA rules, if no coal is available?

Religious zealots surely will be making snow angels and police will be patrolling playgrounds to curtail such activity.

NJ dem legislators have proposed a law that lists snowballs of a certain density, based on the humidity of the atmosphere at the moment the snowball was formed, to be classified as assault weapons.

More salt in our streams and rivers.....more OT for muni workers. Fines for residents failing to shovel walks, parking tickets for parking on the street, lawyers gearing up for suits related to icy roads and walkways.

Snowfall in Nj is a welcome windfall for municipality coffers and lawyers.

Is the joy of a coming snowstorm gone from our culture?

Only you could spin the weather into a political argument.

Look at the bright side, you won't be reading news on global warming for the next few days.

Thirty five years ago I don't recall using coal for eyes in snowmen either, but then, we lived in an area where a river had recently caught on fire so that might have had something to do with why there was an interest in cleaning things up.

That's funny, I precisely planned and purchased ingredients for French Toast should the snow meet expectations. I hope it does, because I make some pretty mean French Toast.
