So I recently got valplast partials and my dentist gave me samples of denture tablets i cannot recall the brand. Anyway i went to shop rite and i ended up buying a few boxes of shop rite brand denture cleaner tablets then i was told on Yahoo answers that i cannot use any other denture tablets besides valplast brand or they will damage the partials. I looked up the valplast brand and they are expensive...I cannot afford those on a regular basis 20.00 a box so is this true or can I continue to use the other brand? So far I dont see any damage to the partials. I won't ask my dentist because he gave me a different brand other than the valplast brand and I feel silly asking him...

Stop feeling silly and ask your dentist.

Ask the dentist. I imagine your question is not unusual.

Dentist may have a good reason for wanting you to use that brand, or it may just be the samples that he had on hand that day.

You can also look at the ingredients of one brand versus another. Are they identical? Does each brand use different ingredients?

Ask the dentist to be sure that you are using a product that won't do any harm.
