Nobody makes money on dollar menu items, they're only designed to get you in the door.

It's not like Seattle's $15 wage is hurting that economy. That region alone is doing shedloads better than Kansas as a whole, where trickle down theories are once more being shown that they do not work.
You can't compare a top 15 media market with a major port, close to Vancouver and the home to Amazon & Microsoft to anything in Kansas.

Good! Take away the fast food and perhaps people will lose weight and move towards a healthier lifestyle, lowering the cost of health insurance in the process.

Doom and Gloom? To some yes, to others no.

Different strokes for different folks.

Some people may take you up on loads of Beer so to forget.
At least CA had Silicon Valley. What does NJ has? Right, we have NYC

Actually maybe the question should be: "What NJ will have as of January 16, 2018?" None of it will be good however imo.

Unfortunately if you take away the fast food restaurants, they will just binge on something else. Ice cream, pizza, hot dogs etc.

Sure you can, when people keep saying that if we could only cut regulations and reduce corporate taxes everything would trickle down. So they elected Sam Brownback in Kansas and watched everything crash to the ground. Brownback assured everyone that it would be an adrenaline shot to the economy and they would become a massive success. Instead they missed every projection since and the state has no leverage to get themselves out of the mess.

Everyone who suggests that raising wages is going to be some kind of nightmare is solidly for supply side economics, which fail every time they are ever instituted. Therefore, everyone should raise wages and see how that goes, the economic models are much more solidly proven.

It's like Pavlov's dog, you put "school" or "library" and they push Yes.

Not only is it $125 million in state funds, any additional costs will be paid for at the local or county level. What part of MORE TAX, MORE TAX, MORE TAX do people not understand?
Truer words were never spoken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look up how green acres cash was spent if you want a shock. Legislators create an illusion that is so ebracable by the voters, who wouldn't vote for 'the environment'.

Meanwhile in a case inthe sourlands in nj, the epa spent 10 years pursuing a guy who put gravel in his driveway they deemd a wet land. After 10 years of pursuing legal action..imagine the ton of money the EPA spent on legal fees.... they droped the case. homeowner was in debt for the million he lost of legal fees.

So sure dedicate that monet to more wild hare, hair, if you prefer, goose chases by and out of control EPA who wants to ensure an endless supply of cash for litigation. The restoration of natural resources is another is another ploy. What's a natural resource might be the first question. the we have the shores of raritan bay lined with lead from national lead. Land, that any new buyer purchases, will set the EPA directly on him as the responsible party to clean up the legacy of pollution he had no part in creating.

Laughable when the legislators who always tricked the public into believing that a fund would be 'dedicated' when the constitution said otherwise. Now these ethical representative are asking us to ensure they will dedicate funds that they promised they would when they knew they couldn't.

And who forgot to mention in the public question about raising the gas tax that the tax could be raised if the targeted amount of tax was not reached in a given period?

Can't think of a public question that deserves a YES vote.

Competition for property drives a lot of the cost of living here. Even if you dropped property taxes in half, property values would increase because people can afford larger mortgages. Fine and dandy for the people who already own, but everybody else is in the same position as before. Now you can try to beat back municipal and school salaries, but it can only go so far as the teachers and municipal workers have to live here too. You can't have municipal workers earning poverty level wages for the region. There is no real avoiding the high and rising cost of living in this region, unless the job market actually permanently declines.
add that to the fact that for years under whitman, teachers worked without raises and some even took paycuts in order to ensure their pensions where stable.

I always want to ask the people who want to go after the teachers, how about you agree to basically lose money most of your working life for the guarantee of a safe retirement and then some one comes along and says, oh where not going to keep our commitment?

It's interesting that people get up in arms when private corporations do it but think it's a-ok to beat the crap outta teachers.

What I find is that when people mean to "balance the budget" what they really mean is "I want you to stop spending money on stuff I don't agree with".
Yes, start cutting things unless it has to do with me.

How about we slash the over bloated military budget? or medicare?
