Gee...remember when seat belts were just going to be a secondary offense, ie only applied if you were already pulled over for something else ?? Remember the chat to set aside concerns that this sort of thing would in time expand to become...duh... a finable offense all the time for everyone ??

NJ will consider seat-belt requirement for all passengers

This personally doesn't bother me; I always put on my seatbelt. It's actually a second nature thing for me.

Effiing socialism is going to be the death of the US.

Govt should just leave us all the eff alone. Get out of my life. I do not need to be protected from myself. If I want to die, its my life, let me. (I dont, its just a point im making)

fine idea, but if you are injured in a car accident, and you don't have your seat belt on any insurance coverage should be null and void and all expenses related to your treatment should be borne by you because you refused to take a simple step to lesson any injuries by not wearing a seat belt, if you and all the others who refuse to wear seat belts agree to that stipulation I'd agree to not having the cops ticket you for not wearing a seat belt

I see your point. But isn't that little noise that goes off in the car every 2 minutes (reminding you to put on your seat belt) annoying enough to make you want to put it on? I think most newer cars have these.

Apvbguy and I agree? Hang on-I need to make a phone call...

"Yes, can I speak with Lucifer please?"

"Yes, I'll hold."

"Lucifer-hey how are ya?"

"Uh huh."

"Yeah I know that shutout loss to the Penguins was brutal."

"Listen-do you have a thermometer there?"

"You do?"

"What does it say?"

"Minus four degrees huh?"

"Yep, that's what I thought."

"Ok-thanks-what's that?"

"Yes I'll let O.J. know you're looking for him."

"Ok-bye."

It's official folks-hell has frozen over.

Hmmmmm.....someone must've stolen my identity, because I don't remember getting that phone call.

IMO, I say, live and let live (or die). It doesn't bother me one way or another if someone doesn't wear seat belts, however, I don't see why Insurance companies should charge ME more because someone else got into a car accident and they weren't wearing a seat belt or why should the goverment meddle into every aspect of our lives.

Cell phones while driving, not wearing seat belts, no smoking in bars or in your car, our civil liberties slowly but surely are dwindling down and it seems no one cares, only after they take our rights to breathe would anyone do anything.
