Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a home in Bergen County sometime in 08. I have being using NJ MLS and Realtor dotcom. What other good sources are there for listings? Web sites? Papers? Thank you.

At the risk of sounding too self serving, I suggest finding a good Realtor. A Realtor who specializes in the area you want will have access to EVERY property that comes to market. They can set you up to receive an e-mail every time a property gets listed on the MLS that meets your needs. Of course, they will also have information & knowledge, so that they can help you narrow down the area based on the many factors that may be important to you. Without a Realtor, you are usually stuck trying to scour all those sources yourself.
And no, I'm not trying to sell myself here, as I do not work in Bergen county.
Good luck!

gsmls.com

No emails needed
noone bugs you
Nice and anonymous.

When you feel more sure. Contact a realtor and they can have a daily email with links from gsmls.com of a certain criterion.

Thanks Bill. I don't have a time frame for my purchase and I'm still out of state at the moment. I just want research the current market for prices. I think it's too early to involve an agent. Plus, I feel I can find most of the listings through the web.

NJMLS.com first is best for Bergen County properties. Realtor.com is great as you can find properties from any town in NJ. Good luck!

GSMLS will work for some of bergen but not all. Generally you are better off with NJMLS for bergen. GSMLS is good for the rest of the northern NJ area. GSMLS appears to be a better operation with more locations and more searchability, and a faster speed.

Is there a separate Hudson County MLS?

We are in a similar situation as yours and I find the following webpage quite useful:

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage

Good luck

Should everything listed on Weichert an Coldwell Banker be also on NJ MLS?
