Good Morning All!

New to NJ and trying to get to the beach. Living near Princeton Junction. Looking for a clean safe beach for the family.

Also wanted to know about sea side. Safe enough around that area? Kind of want to explore the boardwalk. Thanks in advance!

195 towards the Shore Points(exit 7A) brings you into Belmar and from there you can got to Spring Lake and Sea Girt or up to Avon and Bradly Beach .Spring Lake and Sea Girt are all pedestrian boardwalks (no business's) Point Pleasant has Amusements and such along their boards with a decent beach.

Welcome to New Jersey, and especially PJ, where I also live!

By the way, you don't want to 'get to the beach'. Since you're in NJ now you want to 'go down the shore'!

Respect our culture! (just kidding)

Seaside Heights has a tough crowd at nighttime. During the daytime not too bad. New boardwalk, I park a block or two into Seaside Park and walk the boards.

Belmar is nice, except for the body they found under the boardwalk yesterday...

There was a riot at Seaside during the day yesterday...both park and heights.

Belmar has been having issues lately as well.

Island Beach State Park is nice.... not too far from Seaside but no boardwalk, no riff raff...

Point Pleasant, IMO, is kind of a ripoff. Parking fees, boardwalk prices, etc.

Pont Pleasant Beach I have always like and they have a nice boardwalk. Seaside Heights I would avoid but maybe is ok during day and later in summer when there is more families there, yes there was a heavy "urban" crowd there on Saturday and the usual happened when you get too many of them in one spot.

also do some general research about NJ beaches in general. Most beaches require a beach tag (i.e. you have to pay to get on). Not a huge amount, but enough to annoy someone not expecting it. Also, follow EVERY street sign TO THE LETTER. These towns are small and have a huge amount of day trippers during the summer. The towns need/use this to get money for services to support the summer crowds
