Looks like "equality" and "progressive" politics scored another victory.

LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. — The welcome mat at the entryway to the home of this town’s likely next mayor reads, “The Patriarchy.”

“So you have to step on it before you come into our home,” said Julia Fahl, 28. “We had that custom-made,’’ added Kari Osmond, 31, Mrs. Fahl’s wife and campaign manager.
That certainly sounds goofy and I doubt she would be my cup of tea, but when the position is for the (presumably unpaid) mayor position in a town of 4000, putting in the effort seems to be half the battle. This woman certainly appears to have done that according to the article and the other guy has been mayor for nearly 30 years. No one else even cares enough to have run as a Republican or Independent in the general election in November

Butch lesbians have always gone in for masculine haircuts. Back in the day it was a female version of a DA. Today it is the "short sides/long top" that copies what many guys are wearing (straight and gay).

and the corn is as high as an elephant's eye in August.

How is this newsworthy?

Lambertville is across the river from new hope, a legacy gay center.

much ado about nothing, turn it into a trend is what the NYT's does.

Knew the town Lambertville was familiar for a reason, but couldn't put my finger on it; thank you.

Do gays still go down to New Hope? Years ago knew people (co-workers) who went down there, but that was back in 1990's.

Is the River Horse brewery still there?

I'm with others, how is this news? Who cares if she's a Lesbian? Does no one have a calendar that says "2018"?

I think it's much more interesting that she is only 28 years old.
