Id say NJ is where I want to be since that where I was born and raised.
I work in IT and can do most of my work remotely. So Commute isn't a problem mostly.
Much to think about!
I moved to Mercer/Monmouth county and I think thats better then any of the northern counties.
Plenty of farmland, less hills, the people are MUCH nicer down here, (I know you noticed that when you moved out of Jersey) and since youre remote, youre still only an hour away from NYC for Tech when you have to go to those rare meetings.
Also Monroe, Cranbury, Perrinville and surrounding areas. And youre only 30 minutes away from the shore in the summer.
This is coming from someone that grew up in North Jersey. Bergen County (ugh).
But why go back to snow and cold after living in the south? (Thats where Im trying to go eventually.)

It's a mix of reasons TBH. I've prodded family to check out the south and move down, but no luck to this point. Parents are still in NJ and getting older, so I'd like to be closer. Of course I miss it up there. Been gone 10 years. The south is beautiful, but there is something to be said about family/legacy/roots. Home is home.

Sussex county is nothing like Bergen County.
