How true regarding your “First thought”! Well put.

I can understand the OP's frustrations with the traffic in East Hanover. The traffic in Morris County is awful and has gotten substantially worse in recent years.

The traffic in Morris County has gotten worse, but it is not as bad as Essex County and it is not horrendous. Livingston (Essex County) traffic is awful during rush hour. East Hanover would have at least some traffic due to being close to Livingston, but East Hanover's traffic is perfect to keep brick and mortar retail alive. It is kind of weird that towns west of East Hanover like Parsippany can have worse traffic than East Hanover although East Hanover is so far East.
