I want to introduce my parents to Cuban food - I've been to a place on Bergenline Ave. but I don't remember which one it was. Anyway, what do you think is the best Cuban restaurant, in or outside of Union City? Thanks!

Hello there is a place in Montclair N.J. right on bloomfield ave between Gates and South Fullerton exit 148 Gsp ,It is called Cuban Petes,Its a fun place with outside dining and is byob if you bring red wine they can add it to your sangria,I thought the food was very good and the service was very good,Although I am not cuban so I cant say if it was super authentic but the dishes did seem cuban inspired

I second, third, fourth ....that!! Ohh how I miss Cuban Petes (I just relocated from Jersey)..its soo much fun there and the food is excellent!! And its a BYOB restaraunt!! Love it!! When you go there you feel like your in Havana somewhere..they have a Cuban Carribean ambiance..the waiters even wear their ethnic outfits!! Very cool and lively spot...not to mention the food!! Wish they had something like that here in Orlando..if they do..do tell!!

Azucar is the best IMO. The original one in Edgewater is phenomenal. The newer one in Jersey City is nice, and almost as good.

I go to Cuban Pete's often. It is good, but if Azucar was more convenient for me I would probably go there every time.

I second Zafra in Hoboken, but it's tiny, so make sure you have a reservation.

has anyone ever tried "Grenada" or something like that in Hawthorne. On that note, has anyone ever tried Ossy's (?) in Fair lawn?
