Chicken excrement smells if you don't do something with it. A couple of chickens just fertilize an area.

NJ towns should consider lifting the ordinances to allow people to have their own chickens for eggs and food during this crisis. We can be at anytime be cut out from our food supplies with no other way of growing our own. I know co-workers that have their own chickens and can get enough eggs from them. I'm all for fenced homes to have their own chicken if they do not have neighbors that are attached.

You want tick control? Have chicken in your backyard,

We are getting anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 dozen eggs a week from the 6 my wife has.

Ha ha, ha ha ha. Seriously. Since I'm an older person, I'm actually coughing a bit, too.

Life is too short to not laugh at just about everything that you possibly can.

Very few towns have ordinances specifically banning chickens. See my post earlier in the thread.

I have done some research and there was a huge push after the great depression for every person to have chickens in their yards for this very reason. People needed solutions after being hungry and chickens reproduce easily grow fast and produce food with little or no work on their part. I want chickens for bugs and eggs.

From my reading, there are chickens that serve dual purpose eggs and food, but there are breeds specifically for food and specifically for eggs. I would consider having meat chickens if i had a large enough property to sustain them and harvest them on site.

Simple, it's where the sidewalk is.
