Should be at least 95 mph limit. And they have the nerve to raise them during a pandemic when 50,000,000 are out of work? Right, so 3 people can't sit in a park together, but cash tolling is back on the turnpike, physically touching thousands of drivers???? Right....NY and NJ needs another Sandy.
95 mph? No one is going to go for that whether pols or citizens.

That seems rather arbitrary. Why not make it an even 100 mph?
Why not just eliminate speed limits entirely?

Will New Yorkers still be allowed to drive in the left lane at 45 mph?

Down here it's Pennsylvanians. Left lane all the way down the Expressway and Parkway headed to the shore.

On I-287 and I-78, the left lane-hugging slowpokes are mostly from Pennsyltucky, but there are also some New Yorkers.
Then, on Route 1, we always have some New Yorkers stopped in the left lane--next to the signs stating NO LEFT TURN--waiting to make a left turn.

That traffic and those dummies are the one thing I didn't miss during Covid lockdown!

I just got a violation notice for 5 unpaid tolls, when it was really only 2 that I paid immediately when I got it. I drove from I 278 to Exit 5 on the turnpike and they are counting it as half a dozen $1-$3 separate tolls for every exit on the turnpike, and charging me $50 for each of those when I paid it on time and only entered/exited the turnpike a total of 2 times (coming and going) they want $270 for $13 that I did fully pay. They are criminal, and it's time for a lawsuit.

It's common sense, and yes no traffic engineer would put a mountainous road the same speed limit as a perfectly straight flat road with no visibility obstructions. Traffic engineers have been saying for years to set speed limits based on the 85th percentile, which on the turnpike I am pretty sure is in the 90s, so don't tell them that they are the problem.

Because everyone is brainwashed. You should watch this video:

And yes, I have contacted the maker myself and he does have a degree in statistics himself. And the articles associated with the video are real, I verified them myself.

If it is an easy pass violation, they are very easy to dispute on their website.
