Can anyone give me information on Hackensack? What are the job prospects there for the high tech field and such? I see that crime is low there, which is good. We're looking to move up there in the coming months and I need to find a job (Technical Writer/Business/Proposal Writer). I understand the wages there to live the same as here in Fort Worth would need to be almost 50 percent higher to live the same lifestyle that I am accustomed to, but when I look at the wages for most of the jobs, their pay is actually lower than similar positions here in the DFW area. How do people survive in the more expensive environment with less income? Any input would be helpful.
Thank You

Hey, Synopsis, glad to see you doing some research here. You may want to check out the jobs in NYC. The salaries will be higher (as will the taxes), and you could probably find a place near the train to get into the city. As I told you on the other forum, I'm not that familiar with the hackensack area, but I'm sure you could get to NYC by train from that general area.

Thanks Colleen. Actually, I'm kind of looking West to Western NJ or just over the border in PA now. I don't need to work in Hackensack, just be within an hour or so drive. Housing is expensive there, as was expected. Thanks again.

Smile Yea

i was born and grew up in hackensack, and what i can tell you is, it's the best place to get work in high tech then all of bergen. It has it's high school mainly on high tech, it also has a hospital and many good sized buildings. It is very multri-cultured, very low crime rate, livin here i think i heard about one homicide in 16 years. If not Hackensack, try Teaneck or Englewood.
