Hi, I received a parking ticket of $48 for parking where it was prohibited. However, there was no sign that said such thing in the entire block. (There was an empty sign holder, maybe that's where it was?). Honestly, heading to Point Pleasant will cost just as much as the ticket (gas + tolls).

I am from New York and imagined I'd be able to just upload my proof and be on my merry way but further research says I need to show up to court. I really don't want to pay $50 (plus $2 "convenience" fee) for a parking ticket I don't deserve, so I'm turning to you guys. Is there anything I can do, or does the big man win this one?

There's an app for that: Fixed.

I've never personally tried it, just saw it on Shark Tank and thought it was a good idea. If you give it a shot it would be nice if you report back your results.

I'm a 22 year old college student... Those $50 make a difference to me lol.

But I'll probably have to do that. They won't even pick up the phone, been calling all day today.

My feeling is that even if you show up to court, you probably lose.

There's probably a sign you missed or a yellow curb or, you were within 50 feet of a stop sign or something.

Probably cost you way more just to show up to court.

Pay it.

Same exact thing happened to me in Point Pleasant Out of state plate. No sign.

Bunch of pigs. No wonder people have no respect for the police.

Interesting that you saw fit to bring up a 3 year old thread just to call cops "pigs". Truth of the matter is if you did get a ticket in Point, it was more than likely issued by someone from the parking authority.

Don’t come from New York to Pt Pleasant during a pandemic.

That’s really what the ticket was for.
