Local lids hanging out on "cruze night" at the local ice cream & pizza shop hold up signs saying "Do a burnout!" Then the sound of squealing tires and tire smoke drifts over the area.
Judging from their girth, over 50. They are near Rt36 and Broad St. Keyport
Ah. Then it's a Wet Side thing.
The Wet Side refers to the towns on the bay side of Route 36. Keyport, Keansburg, North Middletown. Traditionally lower-middle-class towns prone to flooding. Heard the term from a Middletown cop friend.
They were having fun and the nearby residents got to listen to two hours of constant honking. Maybe they can do it by your house.
There’s not enough cars going by my house to annoy me. Part of living in a neighborhood is occasional noise. Kids having a birthday party outside, guy mowing the lawn, or a few cars giving a honk for a couple of hours, what’s the difference? Was it 11 at night? No it was early evening. It’s a one time thing, if the neighbors are that uptight maybe they need a house away from other houses.

The location was right by the little road leading to the Stop & Shop grocery store on a Saturday afternoon so there were QUITE A LOT of cars. Most of the neighbors are the 400+ senior citizens living right across the street in a senior building. Don't think they can afford to move, nor should they have to.
