I have been using a heavy duty reusable bag for a good 6 or 7 years. The brand is "Creative Green Life" and can be purchased on Amazon. Great for carrying heavier items like milk, water, etc. I find it easier to carry a few reusable bags rather than dealing with plastic bags that can break and then figure out a way to dispose them. I leave the reusable bags by my door after a supermarket trip and bring them to the car next time I go out so that they are always there for the next grocery run.

+1
I simply hang the bags on the doorknob of the door leading to my garage, so that I don't forget them. However, I also keep a couple of extras in my vehicle's cargo area, just in case I have a larger-than-usual grocery order.

And while we're on this topic, let us not forget that one of the people in this forum who claims that he wants to preserve the lives of marine mammals--by banning the construction of offshore wind turbines--is the same person who repeatedly bleated that... life as we know it in NJ... would come to an end if we were required to rely on reusable bags, and if plastic drinking straws were not available. Ergo, selective outrage, depending on how the political winds are blowing...

I LOVE the INSULATED bags my husband and I have bought from Trader Joe's and Wegman's.

They keep cold foods cold and have great straps so we can carry them if we need to.

We have several of them that we keep in our car at all times. If we forget to bring them into a store, we just put the food in the cart after paying and fill up the bags when we get to the car.

These bags last a long time.

We don't miss the plastic bags at all.
