I hadn't thought of this show in about 30 years, since it had its debut and brief run, until today. I remember it as kind of a precursor to "Friends" that came on later the year this show was pulled from its run on Fox. Does anyone else remember this show? It was based at Belmar Beach. It probably deserved a second chance. I was listening to Southside Johnny "I Don't Want to go Home" and it triggered the memory of the show.

tbh looks like a bad show with a generic plot. They could have done a lot more with it.
15 years later Jersey Shore said hold my beer.
Jersey Shore is a crap feast of non new jersey(Staten Island Guido's) idiots! "Down the shore " showed what the New Jersey shore was really like at the time.

Totally! Did nothing but perpetuate a totally false ignorant stereotype.

The real guidos exist, but they arent from NJ. All the 40 year Staten Islanders who live in their mothers basement flood the shore to D'Jais in Belmar and Headliners each weekend. It used to be Surf Club until that got washed away by Sandy.
None of the cast from Jersey Shore was from NJ except 1 or 2 of them. They were from New York and Rhode Island.
