Another dolphin died in Little Egg Harbor. Sn adult female Bottle Nose Dolphin in 1/22.
The unusual mortality event continues on the East Coast.
Two days ago a young female Right Whale washed up dead on Martha's Vineyard. Coincidentally, pile driving for Vineyard Wind is happening close by.
There is a bit of controversy swirling around this whale. NOAA says the whale shows signs of entanglement by the tail, but cause of death unknown. Eyewitness first on the scene have a different perspective.
Also two sperm whales died last month off NC. According to scientists, it is a rare occurrence to see dead sperm whales on the beach because they are deep water whales. The last dead sperm whale washed up in NC over 10 years ago.
Coincidentally the offshore survey vessel Shackleford was operating multibeam sonar, side sonar, gradiometer and sub bottom profiler equipment in the area. See US Coast Guard Mariner's Notice here

This spring Atlantic Shores wind farm starts construction ten miles off Atlantic City & LBI.
357 turbines. 1050 ft tall. Multiple offshore substation. Multiple onshore substations. Thousands of miles of EMF radiating cable blasted into the ocean floor.
Murphy's former acting deputy chief of staff is now leading an offshore wind advocacy group.

First , Thanks for that info. Second and I'm not being a smart ass here but you might want to read cause's of death on a few of these. The last one was a Boat strike, "tail was severed" and most likely alive when that happen. Not a wind turbine.

A necropsy is still being done. While the case is a bit peculiar (its the only one out of 75), a lost tail likely came from a trap and dolphins have been known to survive without one. This one looks like it was caught in a net based on the other information provided. Who knows, dolphins become very disoriented and blinded with Offshore Wind sonar and drilling.
I find it hilario-ironic that the envionazis who are pushing to cut fossil fuel use / carbon emissions are now trying to block one of the major ways of doing just that.
Another dead dolphin today in Avalon, NJ as 3 vessels sit right off the coast.. I didn't realize these animals live for 40 years, this poor guy has probably passed a lot of us on the beach.

Both dolphins appear to have eardrum explosions.
