Really cool that he's a shortstop. He was one of millions of kids growing up idolizing Jeter in the 2000's and now he gets to play for the Yankees in the same position.

Wow. It really isn't that many.

Jeter is not really 'from' Pequannock. He lived in Michigan and used to spend like summers there

You wanna go there there were a lot of black players born down south who moved north. Jeter is from NJ.

Yeah theres quite a few. 3/8 people in my friend group from Hackensack area are Sox fans so they gave me the rundown. There is one bar in Hoboken, a few down the Shore and one in Bridgewater I think. My other friends are Mets (2), Yankees (2) and a random Oakland Athletics lol.

I'd say about ~10% of people in Central/Northern NJ I meet are Sox fans.. higher concentration in super Dominican areas, the Rumson area and parts of Bergen Co. Definitely not a lot, but a good amount especially in the younger cohort. (18-25). Also lots of Boston migration to NJ.

Well, hopefully they won’t finish in last place again so the rivalry can be fun again.

I've learned this with the Habs/Bruins. I've actually started rooting for the Habs to be good again.
