Murphy in cahoots with mayors of towns affected have said "no effing way" and are busing migrants into New York City soon as they get off buses from Texas at Secaucus or elsewhere.

Mayor Adams pleaded with Gov. Murphy to take on some of these migrants, response was "you're on your own..."

Maybe they'll keep NJ transit running efficiently just to get rid of the migrants. Certainly nothing else will do it.

$100 says this becomes a bargaining chip over the congestion fee implementation.

Nah, Adams has nil control over congestion pricing as MTA is largely controlled by Albany, to wit the governor.

Upstate or even certain areas outside of NYC have no great love for city, and more to point migrant crisis isn't impacting them much if at all.

Adams has sent some migrants upstate, most come right back to city for various reasons.

First and foremost the weather (it's effing cold up there now). Next few if any urban or other areas upstate match NYC's generosity in terms of free housing and other goodies. Right to shelter only exists in NYC and everywhere else in state is making GD sure that hot mess does not arrive in their town.

Finally just in terms of employment there isn't much upstate for even locals in many cases. Options in NYC are far greater, especially for off the books work.

City is lousy with "migrants" selling things and or themselves on streets and elsewhere.

What happens in NYC greatly impacts NY state overall, so to suggest that Albany doesn’t care is flat out wrong. NYC is the economic heart of NY state, 42% of the state’s population lives in the city, and it is well over 50% when you include the suburban counties with NYC commuters and served by MTA.

NYC GDP is slightly more than half of all of NY state GDP. If NYC declines, NY state declines with it. Hochul knows that. As such, I very much do think this could become leverage.

The nitwits in DC need to stop tap dancing around this issue and come up with a viable border control plan.

Control the border and stop illegal immigration already.

It’s ridiculous Texas is shipping illegal immigrants up here though. You would think aiding and abetting illegal immigrants would be a crime, not a state policy.

The border isn't controlled, the Biden Administration has purposely opened the border and changed illegal immigration laws for literally anyone in the world to walk into the country. Now you know why they are no longer "illegals" but by law "migrants" because they are given a court date nearly a decade from now they must go to to plead their case.

So then you need to ask the question, why is the Biden Administration allowing anyone into the country, unvetted, unchecked? The idea is solely about changing Texas into a blue state, and that is it.

If Texas has to take the brunt of demographic changes so must the rest of the rest of the country. Also, adding for those who support this, and support the Biden Administration and any of this ruling, I would say that you must open up your home to these 'migrants' into your home instead of giving them each a $15,000 taxpayer voucher.

Additionally, to add to your comments, Texas isn't just shipping illegals up north. The Biden Administration has been flying illegals from Texas to various (mostly red) cities and states every single night for 2 years now. The night skies are full of airplanes flying illegals all around the country.

they are all being processed and released. So they are allowed to be here and are not illegal since they are "asylums seekers". Besides even the ones that are still illegal, TX is being told they cannot do anything about it (immigration is a Federal concern). I cannot see how NJ or NYC can stop them from coming. Are they saying that people here legally waiting for their court dates 6 years in the future are not allowed to take a bus to their destination of choice? It is not like TX is forcing them on a bus. They are just waiting outside the processing centers asking if anyone wants a free ride to NYC or Chicago or where ever. If they are not in these locations they are somewhere else and have the same needs. Wonder what happens when they just buy them a Greyhound or Spirit Airline ticket instead
