We are moving to New Jersey and will be working in Fairfield. I have lived my entire life (since 5) ion North Carolina. Where you can rent a 3 bedroom 1700 sq ft house for 700.00. You can imagine how hard this is to try and find an apartment and judge how much i should expect to pay in rent, where are good neighborhoods, and how far is to far to drive. It is 3 of us me my husband and my 3 year old so we would like to have 2 bedrooms. any ideas on the best way to go about finding a decent place?

ugh, you're not going to find a 3 bdrm house ANYWHERE in NJ for $700, you won't even find a 1 bedroom for that price. To put it in perspective, I paid $700/mo 19 years ago for a (crappy) one bedroom near Fairfield.

A 3 bedroom 1700 sq ft house will run MINIMUM $1700/mo. I'm sorry.

I totally understand your struggle. I just relocated to NJ from Minnesota. I paid $960 for a nice place in MN. In order to have a comparable place in NJ we are now paying $1900. You will have to spend a lot to get a nice place. Good luck with your search!

If you are willing to commute..you can find something like that near me! Fairfield, without traffic, is about a 45 min. drive. With traffic..1 hr to 1 hr. 30. Interested?
