No surprise effective 1/1/09 basic cable is going up to $62.00. I just find it hard to believe they get away with that, they know they got us cause we have to have it. Sad to think when I first got it, it was only $11.00 and years later they really don't give you any extras yet they keep raising the cost. My Television isnt even hi def I have to do something about that also.........where does it end?

$62? for basic? that's crazy. 1 TV or multiple? actually, come to think of it, that shouldn't matter. like wiley we have 3 tv's, all with Tivo/DVR, 1 hi def, a zillion channels and HBO, and it's < $100/mo.

i have verizon dsl and while I'm not crazy about it, 5+ yrs ago having just cable internet was costing $70/mo (b/c i didn't have cable tv), it's highway robbery so i'm sucking it up with the lower speed (but really it's not that bad).

That is for 4 tv's which is the limit unless you want to pay for add'l sets.......I only have expanded cable with the box on one the others would be $3.95 each extra tv...It just is getting out of control I think. Wiley did get a deal but when I worked for cable alot of ppl came back to cable cause after the initial year they got clobbered with an increase. You just can't win. I remember as a kid having channels 2-13 and we lived with that!

Well here's the nice thing about having two different last names in the house... cancel after the year is up, tell them you moved and then order it under the "other person's" last name for yet another year of cheap TV .
