Pier 1 will still have over 1000 locations, even if they do close 80.

I've never been in one, so I'll have to take your word for it.

My point was that the company is not going under (as you implied), they are closing unprofitable and under-performing locations... something smart retailers do all the time, even during "good times".

I'm not surprised by Virgin Megastore. Every time I go in one, there aren't too many people in there. Even their Times Square location lacks people (compared to a ridiculous packed Garden State Plaza, yeah). It must be their prices which I notice are a bit pricey. Even their books are higher than normal bookstore prices. The Union Square one is even quieter!

I don't know if the economy is as bad as reported. I walk past many Starbucks every day, and there is still no shortage of people in there ordering that overpriced coffee.

LMAO WILES! Negative zero. Now that is funny. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know, everytime I go to Gap, it is Gap Kids! Not Gap...they have shat there. Nothing fits right there!!

Pier One sucks. I never really got into the "wicker" feel...too contemporary or something. I will take my Home Goods anyday lol......I used to love Domain! but they closed!

Frank lol............I don't think I was ever a size 2. Well, maybe a 4 when I was living out West Coast at one time LOL>>>>>>
