I have to admit some of these epidemiology history lessons have been fascinating.

Some of the resorts are offering the Dominican Republic as an alternative, if they have a resort there. They are allowing a change.
Also none of the Cruiselines will be stopping at a Mexican port for at least a week, they have either replaced the port or will do an extra sea day. Mexican Riveria cruises that call at Puerta Vallerta, Cabo, and Matzlan instead will be doing a Coastal cruise and Canada. I know San Fransisco will be a port of call on that.

Wow, while I don't blame them, it must be pretty odd to have been planning the Mexican Riviera cruise (tropical!) and getting a Candadian/Alaskan variety.... but it is what it is.

I agree they ae over reacting, as the American's that have had it all had mild cases.
I do wish my husband did not have to fly to NY tomorrow, on business, as no one has had it in TN.
Also this week with the Govt. not informing Bloomberg that the planes would flying low in NYC. What were they thinking? All the offices evacuated including the NY Office of my husbands company. They are in the World Financial Center and they though it was 9/11 all over again.

I am suggesting making light of the situation is being flippant. I am suggesting thinking that this is only a Mexican medical and face problem is being wrong.

Many mexicans infected also had mild cases. It's too early yet to tell whether the virus is sputtering out because of the low number of infected so far in the US. Once the infected goes into the tens of thousands or more, then you'll start getting deaths if the virus is still potent.

You know what's funny, the same people who complain "it's overblown" are the same people who will complain that not enough was done IF it gets worse. Check the CDC website, the government, btw, is actually not getting hysterical. The news is...but it's the NEWS. Sensationalism is not new there.

Well, there is news that a 23 month old in TX died from Swine Flu. I know it is only 1 person and all...so please, no accusations that I'm running off a cliff in fear... I'm getting MY kids ready for school right now.... But this does suck and if your heart does not go out to these parents, well you pretty much don't have a soul.
