Fawn born this morning.
Walking along the tall grass of a pasture earlier, I almost stepped on this little guy. The thrill of the NJ wilds comes through again... best served as a surprise.
SHHHHHHHH!!! I'm personally a big proponent of the "Yes, the WHOLE state looks like exit 13-now move along" myth. Just kiddin... Nice picture. I spent Sunday morning beside the South Branch of the Raritan River-absolutely gorgeous.

LMAO!!! Very well said.... I would add "and don't forget to take your trash with you when you leave..." If only they would listen!
My neighborhood in Burlington which is a blue collar town, has rabbits running around the yards, sometimes I see 3 of them together. And I'm yet to see a rat or mouse in Newark, been here for one year.

Trenton just called and they want to know his name and address so they can send out his tax bill !!!
Thought we could use the break from all the controversy.
FF, I too was thinking about how this guy isn't going to get a SS# and would be invisible to the state.
Camera is a Nikon D100 with a prime AF 180 mm Nikon lens. Never go anywhere without the camera. Luck and persistence sometimes pay off.
No matter how many deer you see and how often, an intimate glimpse of a newborn fawn somehow makes your life richer and enhances your appreciation for all these critters that share our crowded state.
Just finished up a 10 mile paddle on the South Branch and was portaging the canoe up through the pasture when i saw the fawn. I made a few casts in likely trouty looking spots with no success. Saw about 5 fishermen along the way but when I went back for my truck it looked like the first day of fishing season from yesteryear! the SB gets stocked tomorrow so no fishing until 5pm.

Thanks for the compliments on the photo.
My family (the ones into photography) swear by Nikon. I just got my first Nikon last summer, best camera choice I could have made.
