I think the reason people own snakes is because they think its cool and need something to talk about.. you cant do anything with a snake you cant play or snuggle with it and even feed the darn thing is down right nasty.... Poor little baby... that family learned a hard lesson.
drive and use a cell phone
drink to excess
smoke cigarettes
have a poor diet
re-elect JC
own an aggressive dog and have an infant
have a swimming pool
join the cheerleaders
play high school football
a python seems the most harmless thing you can do
protecting people from themselves would require we all be jailed...how safe do you want to be?
because the kid was murdered by the snake. the snake owner didnt take the needed precautions to keep the snake locked up. the snake owner killed the kid.

This isn't about protecting yourself. If the idiot snake owner wanted to take it out and play with it himself, that's fine. This is about an innocent baby being killed by the sheer stupidity and carelessness of the mother (who is more guilty, imo) and her boyfriend.

I am without speech. "Dumbasses, dip*****s and douchebags" are the only words that come to mind.
When my sister-in-law proudly announced the adoption of their family pit-bull, I took a vow of silence, because those are the only words that came to mind then, as well. The only comments I could have mustered would have been family relationship ending ones - including the kids - since kids are especially clueless as to how hopelessly ignorant their parents are in these cases. Restated: I would have been the bad guy.
*sigh*
