Hi Am moving to the area in the next few months and need some advise. My husband will be working near the airport so I am unsure of commute times and traffic etc. I am looking for a good elementary school as well as a good middle school. Am willing to commute some but wondered what your thoughts were. Thanks

Are you saying that your husband will be working near airport in El Paso or in Albuquerque? As far as Albuquerque goes, I am not familiar with their schools, although I am with the town itself and I love it, but when it comes to Las Cruces area, there is a brand new Elementary School that opened last September. That school is supposed to be the best school when it comes to technology. There are plenty of Middle Schools as well.

Given the size and location of Albuquerque's airport, the answer could really vary. There are numerous employers east, north, west, and south of the airport. A little more detail would help give you a lot more informaiton.

Default Northeast Heights Is The Place To Be

If you're looking for relatively safe, and moderate housing...with decent schools, stay north of Menaul Blvd., and east of Louisiana Blvd. The "Heights" is a misnomer, as it includes about 2/3 of Albuquerque (east of I-25), north of I-40 roughly.

The major n/s streets: Louisiana, Wyoming, Eubank, Juan Tabo, and Tramway will help for a relatively quick commute to the Albuquerque International Sunport area. Maybe 30 minutes from any of the areas above.

I love Albuquerque, and I hope you will too. The great, year-round weather is a given! :-)
