No kidding. Holloman AFB has been there longer than 99.9% of the complainers.

It's the sole reason Alamogordo exists. My grand dad worked there for 25yrs after he got back from building the Alaska Highway in 1942, so our family owes much to the base and it's mission over the decades.

I haven't 'complained' about it. It's one of those things that I think are unnecessary and they DO cause damage. It can be controlled as barking dogs and shrill women can be too.
The public should be told about it in advance. If any of you have animals that freak out at thunderstorms and sonic booms, you would understand why I don't like the sound of them. I'm all into freedom and patriotism but sonic booms are just plain annoying.

Why do you think it is unnecessary? Doesn't our Military personnel need to test the aircraft or all its abilities? Including that barrier? Shouldn't our pilots know whit is feels like to do that and also how to handle the aircraft at that speed?

Yes, they need to test the aircraft and I understand that but I wish they'd go to some desolate place to test. Not possible, I know, but I'm just being a whiner about the noise that terrifies my dogs, that's all.
I probably shouldn't have posted on this because of my negative comments.
Like I said before, I'm usually a very patriotic person.

How about moving to some place that doesn't have a base? That way only one person (and a dog) will be affected.
