I've always heard that property and home sale prices are public records. Does anyone know where I can access these records? I've searched online with no luck. This inquiry is for Los Lunas (Valencia County) area.

I believe New Mexico is one of the nondisclosure states where sale prices of homes are considered private information. Maybe one of the realtors (or anyone) can confirm or correct this....

The CD Forum rules forbid referrals here to most realtor sites, but I've seen several that allow searching local areas for "recently sold" with prices the properties sold for. Do a search on phrases such as: "new mexico home sale prices."

In the past I've received unsolicited realtor adverts that list recently sold homes in my neighborhood with the prices they sold for.

Realtors and title companies have access to data on listing -vs- sales prices that may not be accessible to the general public except through realtors associations and boards.

Both zillow and trulia, as well as any other generic MLS site are allowed in examples. It's particular realtors or realtor company websites that we don't want here to promote their own listings. By the same token we will remove a trulia listing if posted by the owner or realtor who listed that property.

But we still get people who misread or misinterpret or igore the above.

The Otero County Tax Assessor has a good site for property information but the map feature is lacking. They are really nice in person .

Sales prices must be disclosed to the County Assessor's office, but that info is not considered public and is to be kept confidential.
