It's important because we hold our elected officials to a higher standard. It's also different from your lovable drunk aunt because your lovable drunk aunt a) could have been arrested and charged, b) isn't actually who the police answer to, and c) can't actually get anyone fired for doing their job correctly.
Also, it's not like she was a lovable saleswoman with a reputation for raucous parties before she lucked into the governorship. Her background was putting people like that behind bars (and/or cutting them deals).
Makes me miss Gary Johnson. Johnson is actually eligible to be governor again now that he's been off a term.
