G: "Umm.. we're all in a roo-oom?... eating piz-z-za."
P: "Ok well That's not what was reported to us."
G: "What was reported to you?"
P: "That there was a party and there were people throwing bottles off the balcony."
G: "I'm sorry, there's no one on the balconee-ee? there's no one throwing bottles off the balcony, and if there were.. it was about six hours ago."
I like "bottlegate" better than "pizzagate". The sad bit is that I bet she'd be polling between Trump and Cruz right now if she had tossed her hat in the ring for president.
I don't think people are "ignoring" it, they are just not at all surprised. This is completely within character for our Governor. Yes it's disgraceful.
As if on cue, a couple of weeks after the Wall Street Journal declared New Mexico the "worst-run state", the Governor had to pull something like this to prove their point, along with Secretary of State Dianna Duran going to jail. But these are the people we elected, so I can't say "We deserve better."
I have a feeling those who are displaying outrage at the governor's party hold political views that run counter to her own i.e. raising income taxes on very prosperous people. Similarly, 17 years ago, when Bill Clinton was using the White House, a tax payer funded building, in a completely inappropriate matter, the same folks likely shrugged.
Try to put your views aside and strive for consistency. You can't condemn one instance, and condone another one based on your own personal political beliefs.
The New Mexico constitution allows for impeachment in the event of "crimes, misdemeanors and malfeasance in office". The state senate would try the case, with the chief justice of the NM supreme court to preside.
I'm no fan but far as I can tell the only thing she's guilty of is a lack class.
