It's a nice lake and one at which many eastern New Mexicans and west Texans use and own property, for many years. The town of Logan is growing but I have nothing other than anecdotal hearsay to support that claim. A friend of mine from Muleshoe, Texas just sold his few lots at the Lake. He has told me several times that a builder there has been after him to sell but I think he sold to a friend.
Also of possible interest to you is the Ute Water Project which I believe has been approved. This project proposes to bring water out of Ute Lake to eight eastern New Mexico towns by pipeline. Here's a recent story from the Clovis News Journal: News: Water authority to discuss funding for Ute Water Project | water, discuss, funding : Quay County Sun
I suppose my my point here is that soon more than just the city of Logan will have a vested interest in taking care of the Lake.
I have recently been out to the ute lake ranch. They are sure pumping alot of money into that place. The road, utilities and the golf course are being put in. There are already several homes being built. The turn off is several miles north east of Tucumcari on 54. You don't have to go all the way to logan. The roads are pretty good.
My business Partner just got back today from a trip down to Ute Lake and was VERY impressed... We (together) will probably make a trip down there, but we will most likely proceed with the project. Thank you all for your imput.
I will post an update with progress in the coming months.
Hmmmmm, a MacMansion (2nd home?)on a flat tract of land stretching to the horizon without trees....No thanks, it's not for me. But thanks for the photos _yb.
seems the developers keep getting new investors to fund this deal. its always windy, dusty, and as a previous poster wrote "a mcmansion in an area with no trees" sure its pretty to some, but strange spot to drop so much money for a second home. and then.....the water will be pumped out to Clovis one day....
