I want to move to New Mexico. Where is the best area to live in New Mexico if I don't want wet or high humidity in the summer?.

Wouldn't this be a better question for the New Mexico state forum?

I don't think any part of New Mexico has high summertime humidity, but temperatures can get pretty high.

Relative humidities can be high, but only when it is cool out which means the humidity is not even very perceptible, much less uncomfortable. I mean like humidity in the 90s when it is 50-70 degrees out in the early mornings in summer.

The other time it can be humid is for a few hours after a heavy rain, but that is transitory. A couple of hours at best.

In the winter/shoulder months, there can be some damp, chilly, rainy days, too, but for the most part, high humidity and the discomfort that comes with it is not worthy of consideration in even the most "humid" spots in New Mexico.

I've been monitoring the humidity all winter long in my house in Santa Fe. Even running a humidifier I can't get much past 30% RH in the bedroom. Right now the monitor in my garage/man cave is reporting that the highest it's detected over the past 24 hours is 32% and the lowest is 27%.

There might be a few days of noticeable humidity during the summer monsoons (think seeing rain but not getting any or not much). Otherwise, it is very low or not a factor. When new New Mexicans arrive here from humid climates it might take a few weeks to get used to very low humidity -- our bodies, after trying to convince us that we need to move back, will adjust.

Statistically, the southwest quadrant of the state averages the least amount of relative humidity throughout the course of a year. In contrast, the northeast quadrant of the state averages the highest. If you read the link to this map and consider month by month, with each month it is pretty consistent the further south and west you travel in New Mexico, the lower the humidity becomes:

"New Mexico humidity" may be an oxymoron.

In the summer here, the morning humidity might be 40-50%. By late afternoon-early evening, it's 10%.
