Ugh. That's happened to me a couple of times too. Sometimes it comes out great and other times, it flops.
I hope the banana bread I'll make tomorrow evening comes out right.
My understanding is that Dixon orchard only sells from their own sheds. They don't distribute to grocery stores. Also, the Champagne apple is unique to Dixon.
So if you want Champagne apples, you must go to Dixon.

I could be wrong but I seem to recall seeing a Farmers Market selling "Dixon" apples a few years back.
I do like a tasty apple but I'm not an apple aficionado so I guess the idea of spending a day just to buy a bag of apples is hard for me to grasp. Especially when the apple tastes no different from any other local orchards.
Manzano opens tomorrow. Just in case anyone is interested. Their site says they are "loaded" with apples.
