I have been doing that for a while and noticed everything from a gated house with a very solid wall to a genuine displaced Yankee yard. I've also noticed no lack of Chevy pick up of every age. Street View is a very useful tool.

IOWs, typical New Mexico!

I would like to toss out there that from my perspective, Las Cruces is a wonderful place to live too. It's been the fastest growing area in NM for several years - outstripping Santa Fe now as NM's 2nd largest city. And with the continuing influx of federal dollars to nearby military installations, it's going to have continued steady growth. It also has the advantage of being very accessible to El Paso with it's international airport and big-city malls and factory outlet stores, etc etc. Plus it's at the confluence of two major interstates (same as Albuq.).
