Thanks Rich,
After seeing those pics I can not wait too relocate. Growing up in NY with some downright nasty winters I can really appreciate a dusting like that. You can't even skitch on that. And it has been over 13 years since I have seen a snowflake. Missing the cold....but not the blizzards, is the reason I have focused in on the ABQ area.
And after my visit it confirmed it.
Any chance of posting those in the photo thread and hopefully anymore you have to share.
Thanks,
Rob

Where about in NY? Born and raised in Brooklyn. I plan on moving to ABQ. Just don't know when. Best of luck with your move.

What's really funny is I live in the foothills, off Tramway. I didn't get any snow yesterday, just rain and a few flakes (no accumulation). Bummer.

I grew up right next door to you on LI. Nassau county to be precise. I spent the first 25 years of my life there and winter was always hit or miss. Some years mild....some years not so much.
Best of luck with your move too.

I have a lot of photo's to share... About 12,000 digital images right now and a lot of video. Plus, I am a bit disorganized. If you are interested in Rio Rancho photos there is a Rio Rancho Group on flicker here: Flickr: The Rio Rancho Pool (http://www.flickr.com/groups/riorancho/pool/ - broken link) and my photo's in that group are here: Flickr: Rich's Photo's, The Rio Rancho Pool (http://www.flickr.com/groups/riorancho/pool/85484858@N00/ - broken link)

Here's a picture I took yesterday from the far west side of Albuquerque. School was not canceled for us west siders!

In the 2nd picture you can see how deep the snow was. I didn't measure but it looked like at least 8 or 9 inches.

Our neighborhood is still covered with snow today except for the the roads which are clear. Not much melting yet. Usually it melts quickly, but the sun has been hiding.

Sorry I don't know how to quote earlier posts on this thread, but someone said that at Menaul/San Mateo it is around 5200 feet in elevation. Well, I agree with that because I remember a sign in the median on Menaul right across from Sears in Coronado that stated the elevation was one mile at that point. I think the sign is gone though.

Click on the "Quote" button in the bottom right corner in the persons post you are replying to. Then continue typing after the quoted info. Once you have mastered that you can learn to edit out the parts you are not really replying to as I have done in this quote.

See it does snow, and my wife thinks I am nuts to want to bring my snow blower with us when we move out there.
